The PEI #ScienceAfrica UnConference is back and this year it’s bigger and better than ever!
At this year’s #ScienceAfrica UnConference, we’ll be highlighting great scientific and technological innovation happening in and for Africa, showcasing ideas and new technologies, and galvanising support for current and future innovation. Hosted by the Rt Hon Lord Paul Boateng, the UnConference will feature contributions from high-level figures and organisations at the heart of Africa’s science agenda, including a number of African Governments, senior business executives, leading academics and international organisations.
The #ScienceAfrica UnConference is all about collaboration and interaction. As well as high-level panel sessions featuring world-leading science and technology pioneers, we’re putting the focus on you and your Big Ideas for Africa! We’ll be hosting participant-led workshops, interactive table working groups and open networking spaces. Over the course of the UnConference, attendees will meet, connect, and exchange ideas about the big challenges facing Africa, and learn about the cutting-edge science, technology and innovation happening in and for the continent. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your own big ideas for Africa and learn how to make them a reality.
Please see the event brochure for more information, and you can register on Eventbrite to attend
We’ll also be running two exciting competitions in the build-up to the main event:

#BigIdeasForAfrica Videos: We want to hear about your Big Ideas – whether it’s a project, a business plan, a new technology or just a crazy dream. So, to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes, submit your Big Ideas for Africa via social media. The best video with the best Big Idea wins!

Run a #ScienceAfrica UnConference workshop: We want to showcase cutting-edge science, technology and innovation happening in and for Africa. Got a Big Idea for Africa that you want to share? We’ve got two workshop slots up for grabs so submit your concept to be in with a chance of becoming a workshop leader.
