| £10
EFG London Jazz Festival
Experience masters of the old Angolan rhythms Galliano and Parakuka. Galliano is a percussionist who was born at Ilha de Luanda where the musical culture is a fusion of percussion, dance & Axiluanda singing. He is a master of the old Angolan rhythms of caduque, massemba, ilundo (xinguilamento), senguessa and kudissakelo. For Angola 40 Galliano will be performing with Parakuka – who play en eclectic sound with musicians drawn from rock, latin, punk and jazz. Parakuka play a unique fusion of Angolan music – Semba, rumba, rebita, kilopanga, kazukuta and kabetula combined with jazz and Angolan ballads. Performing together in London for the first time this unique combo will ignite your love of Angolan music!

Playing alongside them will be Tello Morgado and very special guest Byron Wallen on trumpet.

Tello Morgado
Inspired by his uncle Joaozinho Morgado, the internationally acclaimed Angolan percussionist, and his grandfather Mestre Geraldo Laurenco Morgado, an iconic figure in Angolan folkloric Rebita music, Tello has in time made his own mark on London’s vibrant music scene. During his career he has shared the stage with the likes of Robert Mitchell, Chris Jerome, Kaidi Tatham, Ojos De Brujo, Derito Tavares to 2014 MOBO winner Zara Mcfarlene.
