Carpe Diem Events presents #Telema – the newest poetry slam to touch down on the London poetry scene but with a twist…it’s themed! Held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at The Artworks, there will be a new theme related to Congo – resources, politics, culture, food, leadership – you name it, so get ready! This months theme is …’Culture’!
Telema means ‘stand up’ in Lingala – the language spoken by the Bantu people of Congo! Join us in this exciting and creative way for performers and the audience to become empowered and break the silence on Congo; what better way to do this that than with poetry, spoken word, a music feature and open mic! Step up to the mic for a chance to;

The show will run as follows: .
Round 1 : 8 Poets w/ 5 mins each
