Royal African Society presents The Bridge Series: Inspiring Africa’s Greatest Asset

September 14, 2015 @ 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Historically, the diaspora have greatly contributed to progress and empowerment in Africa from the rise of nationalism and independence movements of the 1950s and 1960s to economic investment and remittances. We play a necessary part in the holistic growth of the continent, but how can the young people in the diaspora increase the impact of their efforts in the present day?

The Bridge Series: Africa’s Greatest Asset, presented by The Royal African society and hosted by the Africa APPG brings together a panel of successful individuals, connecting them with the African and Caribbean diaspora in order to generate a powerful discussion on how the UK diaspora can successfully approach self-development, navigate often turbulent career paths and invest in African contexts through innovation and leadership.

Join us in Parliament for an afternoon of inspiration and empowerment as our panel of experts lead an interactive discussion on ways you can turn your passion, craft and career choice into a success, and give practical advice on how this can contribute to Africa’s growth and development.

Guest speakers include Chi Onwurah and the founders of Styled by Africa.

Performances from the Sxwks Collective will feature on the day.

As there is limited capacity for this event, registration is compulsory. Please RSVP on Eventbrite.

Please arrive at the Cromwell Green visitor entrance to Parliament and allow 15 mins to pass security.
