The Music for Liberia Charity Concert at 7:30 pm on Saturday, 21 November – tickets and information are available here.
There will be a stellar African, classical and jazz line-up, including: the Heath Quartet (string quartet, UK/South Africa), Simo Lagnawi (guembri, Morocco), Renato D’Aiello (saxaphone, Italy), Rowena Calvert (‘cello, UK), Suntou Susso(kora, Gambia), Deelee Dubé (vocals, UK), Usifu Jalloh (storytelling, Sierra Leone), myself (Norway/Liberia) on piano and more. We are also thrilled to work with two groups of talented young musicians: East London’s Kuumba Youth Music and Wandsworth’s World Heart Beat Music Academy. Proceeds will go towards helping our beneficiary, Mother Blessings Orphanage in Liberia, to buy land for new housing and a school for the children.
Join us for a fun evening of inspiring music, home-cooked West African food, and magical storytelling (plus a few surprises), all for a very good cause. Please spread the word – we want to make this our biggest event so far and we need your help to make it a success!
