African/American Journey with David Lawrence

Come and explore with us how early traditional gospel music was borne from its parents of African spirituals and European hymnody. We’ll sing our way through American soul and end up with the contemporary gospel sounds of today, including music by Richard Smallwood.

Whether you sing in a local choir, or haven’t sung since school, this is an exciting opportunity to rediscover your hobby.

The day will be accompanied by piano. Some sight-singing ability is required.
