Jazz Picnics: Minnjiaraby

July 9, 2015 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

| FREE

Surely there can be nothing better in the whole wide world than to watch a jazz concert at sunset in a deck chair with a drink and view over London? Back by popular demand, our jazz picnic series explores this year the mesmerising sounds of African jazz, from Afro blues to Afrobeat.

Minnjiaraby is a band founded by Senegalese guitarist Abdoulaye Samb. His original music is inspired by Fula and Mandinka cultures among many others. The name of the band means “The love of cultural mixing”, which expresses the richness of Senegalese traditions and ethnies, the beauty in them getting together, as well as an open-minded approach to all cultures and people, bridging and promoting them. This truly remarkable Senegalese blues outfit draws elements from the rich Fula tradition interwoven with Rumba, Mbalax, Afro-Latin and deep blues.
