A West African transposition of the ‘Duchess of Malfi’ adapted by Debo Oluwatuminu and Directed by Moji Kareem.

The recently widowed, beautiful Iyalode longs to marry her low-born lover. Her brothers vehemently forbid it and following her heart could mean a trail of torture, torment and even murder…

Iyalode of Eti immerses Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi’s original setting to pre-colonial Yoruba Land with its many sights, sounds and colours.
