An initiative of the Africa Technology Business Network, i4DAfrica is a movement of social innovators with a shared mission to collaborate, innovate and leverage technology to positively impact Africa.
The goal is to enable sharing of resources, talent and expertise between the UK and Africa tech communities in order to accelerate the development of high-impact solutions that address key challenges in Africa.
The UK-Africa co-innovation ideathon is an online challenge which will bring together innovative minds from across the UK and Africa to share ideas on how best we can connect and support them to co-innovate.
The challenge: How may the UK and Africa tech communities be better connected to enable co-innovation, skill exchange and accelerate the development of high-impact solutions?
More specifically, i4DAfrica seek ideas that address the following challenge areas;
• Building trusted partnerships
How may entrepreneurs in the two ecosystems better connect around specific shared interests and how can trust and transparency be built into the process?
• Flow of funding
How may market understanding and access to promising projects be improved to encourage UK investors to invest in high-impact, technology ventures in Africa?
• Knowledge exchange
How may knowledge exchange and co-innovation be encouraged between in the UK and Africa tech communities in a way that is mutually beneficial and respectful of the strengths each brings to the table?
The challenge will utilise the ManyMinds platform, a unique, open innovation platform developed by leading digital innovation agency Head London.
Participants will have the opportunity to become part of a unique UK-Africa innovation community who are sharing their skills and knowlege to help drive positive change in Africa.
Join the launch the challenge and share ideas on how to build a UK-Africa co-innovation ecosystem that is a powerful force for positive change in Africa.
