Film Africa is the Royal African Society's annual festival celebrating the best African cinema from across the continent and diaspora. The fifth edition will take place in venues across London from 30 October to 8 November 2015. 95% of our 2014 audience told us they would like to see more African cinema year-round. We've taken note, and will be bringing you a Summer Screenings programme of some of the best African movies on offer. We kick off with 'B for Boy', a Nigerian drama about one woman’s desperate need for a male child in the face of old world value systems, where a husband is bound by duty and tradition to continue the family name. Eloquent and delicately told, this powerful drama exposes an ingrained misogyny and at times speaks to broader inequalities facing women across the globe. Director Chika Anadu will be in attendance to answer your questions.
