BCA: Opportunities & Challenges in the extractive industries in Côte d’Ivoire

Objectives: 
Present and re-emphasize the opportunities in the value chain in Mining, O & G sectors in Cote d’Ivoire.  Present the opportunities in communities’ development around those projects (investments made by companies and opportunities arising)

British Embassy Abidjan / UKTI Abidjan: Extractives are amongst the priority sectors for the Embassy and HMG.  Being an active stakeholder in the draft of the long awaited Mining Code from Cote d’Ivoire back in 2013, HMG is pushing Cote d’Ivoire to promote its untapped resources for the benefit of all Ivorian. Prosperity should be for all.  Following the continuous improvement of the country in the doing business from WB and its engagement to the Open Government Partnership, Cote d’Ivoire is showing that it came back as the powerhouse of the region.  Cote d’Ivoire remains the only francophone sub Saharan country having a High Level Partnership program the HMG.

• Chamber of Mines of Cote d’Ivoire (representing the private sector)
• SODEMI (National Company of Mines)
• Petroci (National Petroleum Company)
