The Africa Centre & Sulger-Buel Lovell Gallery present 53 Echoes of Zaire: Popular Painting from Lubumbashi, DRC. A collection of popular paintings by several Congolese artists that depict 1970’s Zaire. These works offer an unparalleled opportunity to understand the country’s key historical moments, as recollected through folk memory. These paintings will be exhibited for the first time in London from the 27th of May to 30th of June.
The preview will be held on the 27th from 3pm to 7pm.
