On the 30th of January 2016 ASWA delves into the issue of business and economics in the black community.
With with workshops run by special guest entrepreneurs, thought provoking discussions and a free screening of the hard-hitting 7AM Documentary, this will be be a date you do not want to miss.
Directed by Jason Black (The Black Authority), 7AM is the first in-depth documentary focusing on black socioeconomics and why a lack of business ownership in the black community perpetuates high levels of deprivation and alienation in politics.
The Documentary speaks to academics, activists, best selling authors and entrepreneurs for a critical insight into why entrepreneurship could help solve this crisis.
Free lunch will be provided.
Following the documentary and discussion, workshops will be run by the following special guests:
- Gina Obeng is the Qualified Personal Trainer and power house behind the brand ‘Just Geen’. In a male dominated industry Gina has been able to establish her business and leave her mark through her services in personal training, her strong social media platform and healthy food options. Gina’s brand aims to empower others to change their mind set whilst channelling negative energy to produce positive results.
- Dentaa Amoateng is the award winning CEO and founder of The GUBA Awards and TheGUBA foundation. As a philanthropist, passionate about supporting the development of African communities, Dentaa has been monumental in recognising and awarding the work and talents of UK based Ghanaian’s through The GUBA Awards and addressing issues affecting Ghanaian and African communities through her work with The GUBA Foundation. Some of these fundamental issues include autism, disability and infant mortality rates.
