A famous poet once wrote ‘a thing of beauty is a joy forever, it’s loveliness increases, it will never pass; we don’t know what specific work of art, Keat’s was talking about then, but he was certainly right about art. And in this day and age, few would dispute that some of the loveliest, most exciting, most challenging art in the world is coming from the African continent and its diaspora – and even fewer would deny that the 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair is the place to see (and acquire) such art, whilst enjoy the splendour of a well-curated exhibition in one of London’s most beautiful stately houses. Of course, we can’t all get the art, but this year, 1:54 are asking us to take part in creating a thing of beauty, by contributing to the cost of printing their very lovely catalogues for the fair. #Welovethis campaign because it’s a chance to share in making a thing of beauty, and be part of a whole movement pushing the triumph of African art, art from the African continent, art made by Africans and people of African descent, call it whatever you like – we love it, and here is a chance to take a small part in making this year’s 1:54 even more epic.

Hurry though, things of beauty may last forever, but kickstarter campaigns certainly don’t. This project will only be funded if at least £5,000 is pledged by . Check out the details here: http://kck.st/1QCvOnK
