This week, People of the city features 26 year old producer and DJ ShyOne, hailing from Harrow, London.

How did you get here?

Through the natural progression of obsession.

Are you stressed?

Yes. I live in London.
Who would you snog, marry or avoid?

I would snog Jason Momoa, marry Drake, and I’d avoid Parliament.

What advice would you give to a younger you?

My advice would be don’t be so scared.
Which living person do you most admire?

Assata Shakur

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?

Once, I had tracksuit bottoms with a zip on the front that opened. I was going          down the stairs on the bus with my hands full of bags and they fell down. I couldn’t save myself.

 Are you scared of death?

No.

Which film character do you most identify with? And why?

Amelie, because she finds pleasure in small things.

(Apart from religious texts) Name one book you think everyone should read?

The Art of Living by Epictetes. Amazing read.

What has been the peak and pit of your day? (highs and lows)

The low was saying goodbye. The high was being united with strangers through music.

 What’s your walking style?

Determined.

 What’s trending for you?

The art of breaking cycles

Who is in the party in your head?

Definitely has to be Omar S, Moodyman and Alexander Mut and some really friendly bouncers. Last but not least, me. Also any clean hearted people. Rhythm is optional – I don’t discriminate.

If you could change one thing….

I would change ignorance and xenophobia.

Who would you vote for as president of the United States of Africa?

I wouldn’t like to give one person that role.

What’s the most unwise purchase you’ve ever made?

The last unwise purchase I made was an extortionate I Phone contract. Communication isn’t everything.

 What’s your guilty pleasure?

I can’t help but admire something that I’ve cleaned or organised. I’m a clean freak. If I wash my car I will continuously go outside to look at it.
