Ghana’s Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, will lead a delegation of senior ministers and officials to visit the UK on 28th June for an investment and trade forum aimed at building upon the strong economic relationship between the two countries.

After December’s closely fought election victory, newly elected President Akufo-Addo has quickly engaged in a period of dramatic economic reform and has turned the country’s focus to overseas partners to help him achieve this in Ghana’s 60th year of independence. This outreach to the UK is aimed at invigorating economic sectors including energy, finance and infrastructure.

“During my time here in Ghana, I have seen the immense potential for bilateral trade with the UK. I am very much looking forward to forum and hope to see some of that potential tapped and brought to fruition. The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) continues to be a useful resource and platform for companies looking to build a bigger trade channel between Ghana and the UK” Tony Burkson, CEO, UKGCC.

This event, organised jointly by the UKGCC and DMA, is a full-day business forum that will give attendees the chance to hear up to date economic and political overviews of the country before plenary sessions that will focus on the key economic sectors that Ghana wishes to promote.
