Listen – Moelogo’s Penkele
The home-grown singer-songwriter is musically influenced by his Nigerian heritage, as well as his UK upbringing. ‘Pénkéle’ is a fusion of Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, Trap and Soul, which has manifested sweetly into the jam below.
The video, which premiered on Link Up TV, is shot in monochrome against the backstreets of Peckham, confirming his growth as an artist both lyrically and musically. The MAJOR key here is the sample that is used. The hook is from a song written by Nigeria’s legendary King, Sunny Ade, which was released back in 1983 and is also called ‘Pénkéle’.
