As Head of Mental Health Strategy Development, you will represent Wellcome externally, act on emerging opportunities, and provide strategic advice.
We are exploring the idea of making mental health one of our priority areas – areas where we can give focused, intensive support to transform lives, or where we can drive reform to ensure that ideas reach their full potential. To this end we are establishing a small team that will spend up to a year asking how best we might use Wellcome’s resources to make the most significant contributions to this area and thereby to transform mental health.
We are looking for an analytical expert, with depth and breadth of experience in mental health, to lead this work.
As Head of Mental Health Strategy Development, you will represent Wellcome externally, act on emerging opportunities, and provide strategic advice. Ultimately, you will make recommendations to our Executive Leadership Team and Board of Governors about whether, and how, we should make mental health a priority area.
The position is initially for 12 months – but, if Wellcome decides to take mental health forward as a priority area, you would be in a strong position to lead this area of our work on a permanent basis. For the initial 12 months, we are willing to consider candidates interested in taking the position on secondment, or on the basis of four days a week.
We believe great ideas can change the world and improve health for everyone. At Wellcome, we help great ideas to thrive by supporting scientists and researchers, taking on big problems, fuelling imaginations and sparking debate.
Wellcome isn’t just a supporter of great ideas; it’s a great place to work. We offer a competitive salary (depending on experience) and excellent benefits. We help our employees to develop in an open, respectful culture where differences are valued.
If you are talented and passionate about our work and want to use your skills, knowledge and experience to improve health for everyone, then we’d like to hear from you. You can apply using the link below.
