The BFI is proud to present Generation Revolution, a powerful documentary following London’s new generation of black and brown activists – a UK slant on the global #BlackLivesMatter story.
Generation Revolution follows two activist groups in London, delving into personal and political awakenings, breakthroughs and disillusionment.
The film vividly chronicles the evolution of a host of gripping characters, amongst them Tay (18) the magnetic but reluctant leader of R Movement, Tej (25) a middle-class North Londoner interested in tackling gentrification, migrants justice and police violence and Arnie (23) the firebrand de facto leader of the Black Revs. Generation Revolution offers a unique and original glimpse into the rewarding but difficult path that must be trodden in the struggle for personal, social and political liberation.
Directed by first-time filmmakers Usayd Younis and Cassie Quarless, Generation Revolution will be showing in select cinemas across the UK from 11 November 2016.
